For my Final Senior Design Project I lead a team of 5 other mechanical engineers in an 8 month long project to build Automelette: a fully self contained custom omelette maker for hotels and cafeterias. Our hard work paid off when the machine made over 30 custom omelettes at the final demonstration, and won the Judges Choice Award for Excellence at the annual Mechanical Engineering Senior Design Competition
We broke the project down into six integrated subsystems: refrigeration, heating, egg pumping, pan actuation, topping dispensing, and user interface. I designed the 2 DOF pan actuation system, was in charge of all wiring and circuitry, and integrated all actuators and electrical systems using an Arduino microcontroller.
This project was an absolute blast to work on and I can’t think of a better way to finish out my undergrad.
