Carbon Fiber Bike Seat was a composites project for my Integrated CNC Manufacturing & Design class. The geometry of the saddle is modeled off of the Specialized S-Works Toupe Saddle
The seat was made by the a wet layup process, making the tight corners and complex geometry of the bike seat more challenging. The mold for the seat was made out of CNC milled-out MDF, which was then sanded and sealed repeatedly before it was ready for the carbon layup and vacuum bagging.
By salvaging and attaching the rails from a worn out bike seat, this new lightweight seat can be attached to any modern bycicle
