This Lasercut Jeep was a rapid prototyping project for an Intro to Mechanical Design class. The press-fit design allowed panels of the car to be lasercut out of acrylic and then pressed together like a 3D puzzle. Each panel was designed in SolidWorks then adjusted for fitting and laser curf. The final product was made from 1/8″ acrylic with MDF axles and wheels. In the end the press-fits were strong and it rolled well on most surfaces.
